I'm sure I can get Eddie Gadd from Ramsgate Brewery to judge this, or indeed Evin from Kernel Brewery, or indeed any number of brewers, I've never had a problem getting them to taste beer Smile

If it is Eddie, we just need to tell him it is a porter style and not a Dogbolter, per se, that we're brewing.

Let me know what you think.

I think that's a great idea.

I'm up for Eddie or Evin judging but what exactly are we brewing? Is it the Dogbolter or our own interpretation? I'm tempted to brew my own as I'd prefer a lower ABV to the Dogbolter.

Any Porter style brew that meets the specs previously posted. It can be an existing recipe or your own made up one - or a mixture of both.

Splendid only I've just found out that my preferred supplier as had the cheek to go on holiday and is not currently delivering, how inconsiderate.

I should be able to do something with this Amber malt though. Any ideas anyone?

Brupaks reckons up to 20% but from what I've read that might be a bit much. Start off small I think.

I'll join in. Never brewed or tasted the stuff so it'll be fun.

I've contacted Eddie today and he's happy to judge. I have explained it is a Porter and not a Dogbolter comp. Addresses and further info to follow.

Is there a EBC and IBU range we should be aiming for?

Address for the Porter comp is:

Eddie Gadd
The Ramsgate Brewery
1 Hornet Close
Pyson's Road Industrial Estate
Broadstairs
Kent CT10 2YD

Please label your bottles (500ml please) with name/brewery and label the packaging BIY - September Competition Brew which should ensure it doesn't go astray or get sold in the shop Shocked

Can we agree a deadline please?
