A good basic starter barrel with a 2inch neck and cap.
It's made from tough injection moulded plastic with an easy to use and clean tap.
This barrel does come with a pressure release & CO2 valve as stardard.
As others have found, the seal on the tap leaked after 3 days causing me to have to drink half the barrel while it was still cloudy and fermenting or lose it. I've since cleaned a lot of flash off the thread of the tap hole and my second batch is now 5 days in with no leaks so far...Written By: Richard Hadley (09 September 2010)
The quality of this keg is reflected in the price and that makes them decent value. I use mine for brews that I know I will drink quickly that are made up following easy instructions. If you over prime or use guess work, the tap is likely to blow and you get a double whammy of lost beer and a mess to clean up. For all grain brewing, or kits that you want to tinker with, stick to the King Keg.Written By: Forbes Massie (11 August 2010)
The tap leeks but it was lucky that I had a spare tap and barrel to transfer into or i would have lost 40 pints! luckily there was minimal loss. The second tap is fine.Written By: Keith Steward (16 June 2010)
Hi All, Just purchased my 4th budget keg and am very happy with it. BIY advertised the budget keg now comes with the Co2 valve fitted, I thought that can't be correct for just £24.49, well it came today and behold they are now fitted as standard. I had a few teething problems with my first keg but once you know what you are doing they are a good piece of kit. I find that when my brew has a good pressure in the keg the little feet at the bottom of the budget keg lift off the floor, this is useful for keeping an eye on your pressure without having to let some Co2 out to see if theres any in the keg ( if that makes sense ) I will certainly be buying more. anyway enough talking from me now I'm going to have a few stouts. :) TonyWritten By: Anthony Sullivan (30 April 2010)
To anybody who experiences a leaky tap, I suggest vaseline on your 'O' ring before fitting it.Written By: Paul Clarke (28 April 2010)
