This is a low cost wine kit, very easy to make and quick to clear, thanks to the excellent yeast and finings. Unlike the medium dry white I tried first, the final product was a quite insipid wine with very weak colouring and not much body. Also it is not drinkable straight away, and improves with keeping a few weeks. I think I'll stick to the white in future. If like me you like full red, spend more money on a different kit i.e Californian connoisseur or. a Beaver-dale kit
:) Written By: Stephen Rudden (04 January 2010) I am reviewing a wine brewed ,not by me. but Rob Smith .I tasted this wine with low expectation ,considering the low price and speed of production.I was pleasantly surprised. A light fruity wine ,ideal for summer days with friends.Superior to the Califoria Connoisseur cab sav [but similar]
If you need a quantity in a hurry ..go for it Written By: David Turner (23 June 2009) This is a low cost, good value for money kit, easy and reliable to make. The flavour is light as is the taste, so I tend to add a cheap bottle of cabernet sauvignon of similar per demijohn...still good value! Written By: Derrick Browning-hull (18 June 2009) |
